[Hanoi] Seminar on “International Arbitration and Rule of Law for Sustainable Market”

Access to Justice by Rule of Law is listed as Goal 16 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a key to promote sustainable business. International commercial arbitration is essential for promoting rule of law not only for responsible investment and trade but also governance enhancing transparency in Vietnam. This global practice may be contested in the local practice and context.

As a leading donor for law and judicial reform assistance specialized in civil justice, Japan should support the Vietnamese efforts to catch up with development of the global practice by adapting it into Vietnamese reality. Thus, the Vietnam Japan University (VJU) cooperate with the University of Tokyo to organize the seminar on International Arbitration and Rule of Law for Sustainable Market, which its contents should be introduced to the subject of Public policy and Business management as well as political leadership at VJU to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Japan under the Japan – Vietnam Economic Partnership Agreement (JVEPA).
